Information about the facelifted Maruti Suzuki XL6 is coming in thick and fast ahead of its launch on April 21. Recently, we brought you the upcoming people mover’s variants and colour options. Now, Maruti Suzuki has highlighted two new features that will make its presence felt in the XL6. 

The facelifted XL6 will borrow the new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 360-degree camera from the Baleno. The former gets connected car tech (telematics only), Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from that, we expect the XL6 to get other new additions like an Arkamys sound system, six airbags, and electronic stability control.

When it comes to design updates, the facelifted XL6 will get a revised grille insert and updated LED headlights. Previous spy shots have confirmed the fact that the updated MPV will roll on new dual-tone alloy wheels, upping the premium factor. Inside, the facelifted MPV is expected to feature a revised upholstery for a breath of fresh air.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine has been revised with the addition of Suzuki’s DualJet tech. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, while the ancient 4-speed torque converter automatic has been replaced with a more sophisticated 6-speed unit with paddle shifters. Both powertrains will get mild-hybrid tech for aiding fuel economy.

The new XL6 will command a minor premium over the current model that is priced from Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo, and the upcoming facelifted Ertiga. Pre-launch bookings are underway.
