You can control very limited features via the Alexa device, your smartphone, or smart watch. That said, it doesn’t get the full fledge remote functionality like the Hyundai i20, or Alexa in-vehicle integration like Mahindra XUV700

  • Baleno’s connected car tech is divided into three parts: Vehicle control, messages, and information.
  • Notable ones include control of select features, checking vehicle health, and important alerts.
  • Baleno to launch on February 23.
  • Prices expected to start from Rs 6.5 lakh.

It’s yet another Maruti Suzuki Baleno exclusive, and this time around, we have got our hands on the hatchback’s new connected car tech features. These features can be accessed via the Suzuki Connect app, and certain features can be controlled from your Alexa device. That said, the Baleno’s connected system is limited to select features (telematics) only.

Here are all the features the Baleno’s connected car tech offers:

All of the above mentioned features can be controlled via three sources: the Suzuki connect app via your smartphone or smartwatch, and the Alexa device at your home. The infotainment system gets voice-command based feature activation, and the hot word is ‘Hi Suzuki.’

While the Baleno gets a decent amount of connected features, it's telematics-based system doesn’t offer you the real deal like the i20. In the Hyundai, you can start and switch off the car, switch on the climate control to have it pre-cooled or pre-warmed, and even call the emergency services in case of an unfortunate event or getting directions pushed to your infotainment.
