Bollywood Actress Sushmita Sen Gifts Herself A Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe

Sushmita Sen, one of the most famous Bollywood actresses, gifted herself a brand-new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe. And considering that she isn’t the average car buyer, the handover of the keys was also done in a not-so-average manner.

Mercedes brought a host of its employees along with the car to her place, where it was wrapped up in an AMG veil and ready for her to pull the curtains. And so she did. As soon as the cover came off, we couldn't stop drooling over the spec of the car. An all-black exterior with subtle contrasting chrome bits on the Panamericana grille and 21-inch alloy wheels is a tasteful spec indeed. 

Her choice for the interior matches the car’s exterior. The dashboard seems to be in-line with the black exterior, while the seat upholstery is in a dual-tone black and beige shade. 

Now a bit about the car itself. The GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe is just one of the two variants that can be had with the model’s coupe bodystyle. Even though it's the toned-down variant of the two, having the smaller unit and not the GLE 63’s V8, it is equipped with a 3.0-litre inline-six turbo-petrol engine which puts out 435PS and 520Nm - sent to all four wheels using the 4MATIC+ system and a nine-speed automatic transmission. 

A further boost of 22PS and 250Nm is offered from the 48-volt mild-hybrid system. At its zenith, it’ll take the SUV-coupe from nought to 100kmph in just 5.3 seconds. Not at all shabby for something as big and opulent.

Priced at Rs 1.64 crore (ex-showroom) before all the options, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe is a direct rival to the Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Audi RS Q8. Apart from its coupe bodystyle, the GLE can also be had in a proper SUV shape, although that bodystyle isn’t blessed with an AMG derivative.

The new Mercedes will sit alongside other luxury models in the actress’ garage, which includes the likes of the Audi Q7 and BMW 7 Series. She’s certainly got a thing for the Germans now doesn’t she?
