Tata has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Curvv SUV-coupe in India ahead of its launch on September 2, 2024. It is a SUV-coupe, which will stand out in the compact SUV segment with its unique styling and sloping roofline design . Except for its prices, we know every detail about the Curvv and here’s a 360 degree look at all that dope.
The Tata Curvv is distinctive looking with its sloping roofline and coupe like proportions which will make it stand out from the rest on the road.
The front fascia design resembles its other sibling like the Harrier and features a connected LED DRL strip running across the width of the car, which also gets welcome and goodbye animation. It also gets plenty of horizontal elements on the grille and bumpers, which are all part of its design details.
The side profile gets a sloping roofline design and sporty looking 18-inch alloy wheels. Another stand-out element are the flush-type door handles with illumination, which is the first in its segment. The illumination will help people identify and reach the handle in the dark.
Similar to the front, the rear of the Curvv also gets a connected LED taillight with welcome and goodbye animation. The lower section of the bumpers get a large chunk of gloss-black element, which is contrasted with a silver skid plate. Sportiness is elevated with the integrated twin-spoiler over the windshield and a roof mounted shark-fin antenna.
The Curvv has a boot space of 500-litres, which can be extended up to 973-litres after folding the rear seats down. They get 60:40 split functionality.
The Tata Curvv is offered in 6 different colours namely: Gold Essence, Flame Red, Pristine White, Pure Grey, Daytona Grey and Opera Blue. It is available in four broad trims: Smart, Pure, Creative and Accomplished.
The Tata Curvv’s interior dashboard layout resembles the Tata Nexon, but the interior theme colour is offered in a different hue depending on the variant (persona) one chooses. While the layout is similar to the Nexon, the steering has been picked up from the Harrier and the cabin also gets an ambient light strip running across the dashboard and into the doors .
The centre stage is taken by a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display showing all the vitals of the vehicle.
The rear seat features a reclining function along with an armrest and cup holders. The features list includes wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a premium 9-speaker JBL sound system, rear AC vents and powered tailgate.
On the safety front, it is equipped with six airbags as standard across all variants. It also gets ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, an electronic parking brake with hill hold and hill start assist, a 360-degree surround view camera with front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, and ADAS level 2 features like emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. The feed from the blind spot monitor has now been integrated on the driver’s display instead of it occupying the main infotainment.
The Tata Curvv will be offered with 3 engine options. It gets a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 120 PS and 170 Nm. The second option is a new 1.2-litre Hyperion turbo-petrol engine producing 125 PS and 225 Nm. The third option is a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 118 PS and 260 Nm. All these engines can be opted with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
Tata will begin bookings for the Curvv from August 12, ahead of its launch on September 2. It is expected to be launched around Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom) mark and will rival other compact SUVs in the market like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Skoda Kushaq.
