2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Facelift Launched. New Trend In Luxury And Is Locally Assembled!

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class now gets a facelift and is launched at Rs 3.35 crore (ex-showroom) onwards. The updated flagship sedan gets a more imposing design, a heavily revised digital cabin, more tech for rear-seat passengers and updated powertrains. The facelift hits our shores just six months after its global unveiling in March.

To the uninitiated, the Maybach S-Class sits above the standard Mercedes-Benz S-Class, with chauffeur-driven luxury remaining its primary focus.

2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Facelift: Exterior

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class facelift retains its familiar silhouette, but gets several visual updates to make it look more distinctive. The grille is larger, illuminated and features the brand's signature vertical slats. The Maybach lettering above the grille and the three-pointed star atop the bonnet can also be illuminated.

The headlamps are larger and feature a new three-pointed-star-inspired DRL signature, akin to the standard S-Class facelift. Rose-gold detailing inside the headlamps adds a more premium touch, and the lower air intakes get a Maybach-specific mesh pattern featuring tiny Maybach logos. The tail-lamps feature the same three-pointed-star lighting signature as the front. 

The facelift introduces new 20-inch and 21-inch forged alloy wheels, including intricate multi-spoke designs. Mercedes-Benz is also expanding its MANUFAKTUR personalisation programme, with more exterior colours and two-tone paint combinations available.

The biggest change inside the Maybach S-Class is the three-screen setup on the dashboard. All three screens sit beneath a continuous glass panel, giving the dashboard a much cleaner and more contemporary appearance.

However, the piece de resistance of the cabin is the rear seats. The executive rear seats can recline by up to 43 degrees, and continue to offer heating, ventilation and massage functions.

The earlier tablet-style rear controller has been replaced by two individual smartphone-style remotes, allowing rear passengers to control functions such as the seats, climate control and entertainment system. Mercedes-Benz also offers extensive personalisation.

Apart from the technology previously stated, the facelifted Maybach S-Class comes with luxury equipment like smartphone-style rear-seat controllers, heated, ventilated and massaging rear seats, and 43-degree rear-seat recline. 

The triple screen layout consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch front passenger display, which is paired with a 31-speaker Burmester high-end 4D sound system.

The Maybach S-Class also gets multi-zone climate control and a rear refrigerated compartment.

2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Facelift: Safety

The Maybach S-Class continues to use Mercedes-Benz’s extensive suite of active and passive safety technologies like Active Brake Assist, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, and Advanced occupant protection systems.

Being based on the S-Class’s architecture, it also has an adaptive restraint system, PRE-SAFE belt pretensioning and a comprehensive airbag system. The latest S-Class can be equipped with up to 15 airbags, depending on specification.

The rear-axle steering can steer the rear wheels by up to 10 degrees, reducing the turning circle by almost two metres.

The Maybach S-Class comes with one powertrain option including the 3-litre turbo-petrol engine with the plug-in hybrid setup.

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class facelift is more than a cosmetic update. The larger grille and revised lighting give it a more imposing presence for sure, but the more significant changes are underneath the surface.
