The upcoming Tata Curvv is all set to launch first as an electric version first on August 7, followed by the ICE version. It will mark the entry of a new SUV-coupe in the popular compact SUV segment with its distinctive looks and sloping roofline profile. One of the Tata Curvv’s rivals in the compact SUV segment in the market is the VW Taigun. In this article we take a look at 10 feature niceties which the Tata Curvv will be offering over the VW Taigun.
The Tata Curvv will be featuring a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well connected car tech. The VW Taigun on the other hand, gets a smaller 10.1-inch infotainment screen, but offers the same amount of features.
The Tata Curvv will be equipped with a premium 9-speaker JBL sound system with subwoofers. The VW Taigun on the contrary gets just a 7-speaker setup.
Instead of an 8-inch digital driver’s display, the Tata Curvv will get a larger 10.25-inch unit which shows all the vitals of the vehicle. It can also relay maps in front of the driver if you’re using wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
While Volkswagen does not provide any ADAS features in the Taigun, the Tata Curvv on the other hand will be equipped with Level 2 ADAS features like blind spot detection, lane keep assist, emergency braking, collision avoidance and even adaptive cruise control.
The Tata Curvv will be getting f a 360 degree surround view camera setup with front and rear parking sensors, which makes driving through tight spaces a tad easier. The VW Taigun comes equipped with just a rear parking camera and sensors.
The Tata Curvv will also feature a hill-descent control feature, which basically controls the car’s speed while driving downhill. The Taigun doesn’t come with hill descent control. .
While the VW Taigun just gets an electronic release for the boot opening, the Tata Curvv will get a powered tailgate and that too with gesture control. The latter will be useful if your hands are full of luggage.
Another nicety which will increase the Tata Curvv’s value proposition will be the electronic parking brake along with auto hold feature. On the other hand, the VW Taigun gets a manual parking brake.
While the VW Taigun gets just a single-pane sunroof option, the Tata Curvv will be featuring a panoramic sunroof, most likely to be offered in the top-spec trims. Not only does it add to the premium factor, it allows more light inside the cabin and makes it feel more airier.
There are no driving modes to select from in the VW Taigun, while the Tata Curvv will get multiple driving modes to choose from: Eco, Comfort and Sport.
