Tata Harrier EV: Top 5 Most Interesting Features Explained highlights

Tata has launched the Harrier EV on our shores at Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom), positioned as their flagship electric SUV. While the regular Harrier was already a well-equipped SUV, Tata has gone a step further with the electric version, offering features that will leave you amazed. So like most of us, if you are also into the latest car technology and features, then this article is for you!

Here’s the list of top 5 interesting features of the Harrier EV that will make you go “wowww”…

14.5-inch Touchscreen Infotainment System

Yes, we are used to seeing large screens in cars nowadays, but this 14.5-inch unit is no ordinary screen. The regular Harrier comes with a 12.3-inch screen, and this is the first time that the 14.5-inch unit has been introduced on a Tata SUV. What’s even better is that it is a Neo QLED screen by Samsung. Apart from your usual bits like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the infotainment also gets EV-specific graphics, connected car tech features, a built-in navigation system and drive pay.

eIRVM

A feature that you have seen in Land Rover SUVs for a while now! It is unlike your regular internal rearview mirror, as it has a screen on it which shows you the actual view of the what’s behind you, courtesy of the camera that’s mounted on the shark fin antenna.

The eIRVM also acts as a Dashcam, recording and capturing the footage of what’s happening in front of you. Dashcams have become a very important safety feature, and integrating it into the IRVM is actually a very smart move.

Summon Mode And Auto Park Assist

The Harrier EV’s Summon Mode is a feature that we usually see on cars twice or thrice the price of the Harrier electric. It helps you move the car forward or backward, using the car’s key fob. This feature also helps you park the car in tight spaces or get your car out of tight spaces, and is useful especially when the cars surrounding your Harrier EV are parked too closely and ingress and egress is not possible.

Furthermore, it also gets auto park assist, a feature that we have already seen on the Harrier EV’s closest rival, the Mahindra XEV 9e. Parking the fairly large SUV won’t be an easy task for everyone and that is when the auto-park assist feature will help you park your car with ease. Furthermore, it also gets a Reverse Assist which automatically retraces the exact path in reverse (up to last 50m), and helps you get out of tight spots.

540-degree Camera

From reverse parking cameras to a 360-degree camera, and now a 540-degree camera; we have come a long way! The Harrier EV introduces a new camera system which in the Transparent Mode allows you to see what’s underneath the car. This feature is useful for your off-road trails and also to avoid potholes. Moreover, it can also be used to check if any stray dog or cat is taking shelter under your car.

10-speaker JBL Audio System With Dolby Atmos

The Harrier EV comes with 10 JBL speakers with multiple audio modes for an enriching audio experience. To further elevate the experience, you get Dolby Atmos which makes the audio quality even crisper and richer. Our Head of Content, Tushar Kamath has called the audio experience as “Simply Fantastic”. The Harrier EV is priced from Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and its full prices are yet to be revealed. It will take on the Mahindra XEV 9e and the BYD Atto 3. For details about the Harrier EV, check out our launch story.
