With the launch of the Curvv EV, Tata Motors has stepped into the compact SUV space with an unique looking SUV coupe. It is available in five broad variants: Creative, Accomplished, Accomplished + S, Empowered and Empowered + A. In this read, we provide an in-depth look at the entry-level Creative 45 variant of the Curvv EV in 8 images and explain what it offers
When viewed from the front, the Creative 45 variant resembles the higher-end Curvv EV trims with its connected LED DRLs and silver slats on the lower front bumper. However it features standard reflector LED headlights instead of the LED projector units found in higher trims and lacks fog lamps as well as the welcome and goodbye animation on the DRLs.
Moving to its profile, the Creative 45 variant rides on 17-inch steel wheels, with blacked-out chunky wheel arches enhancing its muscular look. It also features flush-fitted door handles and a silver-finished window line, which adds a touch of premiumness.
The rear end features a full-width light bar, along with dual roof-mounted spoilers that enhance its sporty appeal. The rear bumper houses a silver skid plate, while the overall rear profile is accentuated by the Curvv EV's upright stance.
Like other Tata models, the Curvv EV features different cabin themes for each trim. The base Creative trim has a blue hue with a contrasting green plastic strip running across the dashboard. It gets part-fabric, part-leatherette seat upholstery, with silver inserts throughout the cabin. Additionally, the Creative 45 variant also gets niceties like an air purifier and an electronic parking brake with auto hold function.
Being a base variant, the Creative 45 comes equipped with a smaller 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital driver's display. Other features include wired connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 6-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, power windows, and multiple drive modes. It also supports vehicle to load (V2L) technology which lets you charge or power up small electronic appliances.
Safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system and a reverse parking camera with sensors.
Tata offers the Curvv with two battery pack options: 45 kWh and 55 kWh. The Creative variant is offered only with the former option which is coupled with 150 PS/215 Nm electric motors, delivering a claimed range of 502 km. The larger battery pack is offered with the one-above-base Accomplished trim onwards and gets a claimed range of 585 km.
You can fast charge the Curvv EV from 10 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes using a 70 kW charger.
The entry-level Creative 45 variant is priced at Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Curvv EV locks horns with the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto and higher-end variants of the Mahindra XUV 400. It is also an electric SUV coupe alternative to cars like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
