Mahindra has launched the Pack 2 variant of the BE 6 with the 79 kWh battery at Rs 23.5 lakh (ex-showroom), and we strongly recommend you consider buying this variant especially if you want to save a few lakhs without making any major compromise. So in this article, we take you through the details and explain why this might just be the variant for you.
Let’s begin!
Earlier, the 79 kWh battery pack on the BE 6 was available only with the top-spec Pack Three variant that costs Rs 26.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, you get the Pack 2 with the larger battery pack at around Rs 3.4 less. So here’s what you get with the Pack 2 gets and why splurging extra on the top-spec variant might not be necessary.
In terms of design, the Pack Two gets almost everything that you get with the top-spec Pack Three Trim. It comes with LED DRLs, LED projector headlamps, cornering fog lamps, illuminated BE logo, flush-type door handles and 19-inch stylized wheels. However, it misses out on C-shaped DRLs and alloy wheels. So in terms of design, you are not missing out on a lot and overall, it looks like a top-spec variant only.

The interior comes with the same jet-cockpit inspired cabin layout that you get with the Pack Three variant. In terms of features too, you get a lot of amenities like 12.3-inch screens (one for the infotainment and the other for the digital driver’s display), 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, fixed panoramic glass roof, dual-zone AC with rear vents, and a wireless phone charger.

In terms of safety, you get plenty including 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, all-wheel disc brakes, and level 2 advanced driver assistance systems including lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control.
What you miss out on is the powered driver’s seat, dual wireless phone chargers, 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, park assist, and one-touch auto-down driver’s side window. A few ADAS features and multi-colour ambient lighting are also missing here. So while there are misses, most of them are just features that you don’t really need.
The BE 6 comes with both 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs, and the Pack Two becomes the entry-level variant for the larger battery pack. So this means that you won’t have to compromise on range and power, thereby enhancing your overall experience. The 79 kWh battery pack offers 682 km of claimed range and its motor produces a higher output of 286 PS and 380 Nm.

Irrespective of which variant you pick, the BE 6 offers a lot of value for its overall package. However, the Pack Two variant feels like the perfect middle ground especially if you are looking for value. You save around Rs 3.5 lakh, and the features you miss out on are mostly just amenities that you don’t really need on a day-to-day basis. What you would need is the extra range of around 100 km and the extra performance that you would appreciate. However, if the extra Rs 3.5 lakh won’t hurt your wallet, and you want some of the cooler features, then the top-spec variant should be something.
That being said, the BE 6 Pack Two with the larger battery pack makes a lot of sense for most buyers.
