MG Motor India’s next big launch will come in the form of a tiny compact electric vehicle called the Comet. It’s nothing but a rebadged version of the Wuling Air EV sold in the Indonesian market. And while MG has already revealed the Comet’s exterior design, it has given us a glimpse of the EV’s interior for the first time. Is it any different from its Indonesian counterpart?

Nope. But on the flip side, the Wuling Air EV’s cabin is a great place to begin with. The Comet’s dashboard features dual 10.25-inch screens, whose layout is similar to models such as the Kia EV6. A tinge of quirkiness can be seen in its steering wheel, whose buttons mimic those seen on yesteryear Apple iPods.
Thankfully, the Comet has separate controls for the climate control, allowing for ease of usability. And lastly, the use of light colours does give the cabin an airy and premium feel.

The Comet EV also seems to be well-loaded for such a tiny EV. Apart from the dual screens, it should get connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, single-zone climate control, keyless entry and go and an electric parking brake with auto hold functionality. Passenger safety should be taken care of by multiple airbags, electronic stability control and parking sensors.

Now, MG hasn’t told us what powertrain options the Comet EV could get. But the Wuling Air EV gets two options – Standard and Long Range – both of which we expect to make their way to India. Take a look at the detailed specifications in the table below:
