Always depends on what your requirement is, in addition, always decide post a good test ride.For me, Himalayan is the better pick, simply because it is vibe free, has a great suspension setup and if you're keen on it, can go off road with ease (this depends on your skills too of course). The TB 500X's biggest advantage I can see is the alloy wheels and the tubeless tyres setup. This is the biggest drawback of the Himalayan according to me, but carrying an add-on electric air pump eases the pain. Of course, off roading and bad roads can damage alloys hence the spoke wheel setup on Himalayan. The TB 500X will vibrate at anything above 90kmph, while the Himalayan can go to 120 without any vibes.All that said, it is purely your choice. Both are good bikes.

Hi, I owned Himalayan from more than a year and I use it for my long ride as well as daily commute. I ride it almost 70 km daily from my house to office and I feel great experience about my bike. I also rode my friend's Thunderbird, but I take my decision in one test ride of Himalayan. It just looks big and hard to ride but believe me it's very much comfortable and easy to handle on highway or in heavy city traffic. It's a beast on off-road track. I never feel exhausted after a full day long ride. There are mainor issues in this bike but I m not sure that these are actually issues or just normal things like Knocking sound in handle bar  after every long ride, chain loosen up very frequently and other small things which I have to go to workshop after long rides, only headlamp light is not sufficient. So I suggest you make your decision wisely.

Hi, I dont think anyone will be able to answer this becaus both the bikes are from different genre or class. - Hinalayan being an off roader or, as they say "purpose built" bike has everything different than  Thunderbird being a highway or a cruiser bike. I enjoy riding Thunderbird 500 on a highway but, I enjoy exploring smaller towns and new roads on a Hinalayan.  So, you ask yourself if you are a highway person or an explorer who might get different roads after every new turn. - Hinalayan, having bit less mileage than thunderbird, may give you more powerful pleasure by pushing the bike gear after gear. But, thunderbird will give you more of a relaxed and a happy ride whole day.  I hope you find your answer in my philosophies for both.

My friend, that is like asking which is better, A good single Malt or aged Pinor Noir from south of France :).  Both are distinct in looks and their purpose. (Although, the condition of some urban Indian roads is such that the Himalayan is the obvious choice :) The Thunderbird is an entry level cruiser, while the Himalayan is made for high torque at low RPM situations- aka offroad or sticky situations while off the beaten path... both are excellent rides although the Himalayan has polarizing looks (those who cant handle it, hate it:).  I ride my sleet grey in a suit to meetings and am fine with it. But then, I also ride the Ducati in slippers to go fetch a liter of milk :).

I wants a suggestion which will be the best bike under 3 lac. MY choice is Apache 310 and himalayan.But have positive and negative point. TVs Apache 310 is good option for touring and daily ride but where you carry language .No tank bag no accessories... While himalyan can be use for touring and daily use but liability is main factor due to which I can't trust this bike which I had in past... Need suggestion.. if someone can help or suggest.. TB500 is stopped now. If you are ok for a non aggressive drive Himalayn is fine. If you want some aggressive drive and a faster overtake, faster come back after har stop or slow down without going additional lower gear shift choose TB500.

If want a bike just for daily commute and some highway crusing then go with Thunderbird 500x and if want to do some off Roading adventure also highway crusing then you can go with Himalayan.Above both of them , Himalayan is my favorite.

That depends on your riding style . I'm am more of a touring go anywhere guy. And Himalayan's look attract me . I feel Himalayan is more comfortable . Take a test ride and decide. Himalayan can beat Thunderbird 500 easily.

To be honest both are different in good in their own way, i personally prefer the Himalayan due to its ADV characters and also a good road bike. On the other hand I guess the TB500x is also a good touring bike on highways.

I would say Himalayan. But again, it's a matter of preference. My Thunderbird friend also had accepted it at one time. But again me riding his Thunderbird also found it very comfortable. Decide on your preference.

Thunderbird has reduced vibrations in this 500x model . But it has become a familiar model . If you want to look unique among others you can go for Himalayan .No doubt Himalayan is one of the best bike by RE .

Depends on your usage plan. For long distance touring, Himalayan is best with off roading capabilities. Its a go anywhere motorcycle. I presume, TBX doesn't fall in the same category.

Depends on different factors like your daily commute ,on how frequently you are taking it for a long journey and what kind of terrains are you going for. also which type of bike you prefer.Himalayan is super comfortable because of it's riding posture, you won't even feel fatigue even after a drive of more than 300km!
