No RE bikes have the right fuel tank capacity as mentioned. foreg. take a Thunderbird. as per specs it has 20ltrs but in real it takes 15-18 ltrs only.my himalayan takes in 13.48 ltrs including reserve.currently I'm getting 29kmpl on city and 32 on highway.

Fuel light warning appears at 270 km after you ride with full tank but it goes beyond many km. City 26 kmpl and highway 30 kmpl mileage I noticed. I rode around 15000km in 8-9 months.

To what I've calculated with a full tank of fuel on the Himalayan and optimal riding speed anywhere between 2k to 3.5k rpm i estimate about 33 to 36 (city riding)

The average I am getting on highway is around 27-30 kmpl and 22 to 25 in city. The tank capacity of Himalayan is 15L, so I can go upto 330 KM before entering into reserve mode.If I talk about full tank to full tank performance its around 430 to 450 kms on Highways and 350 to 375 in city riding.
