So my question is .RE don't provide kick with Himalayan; I am planning to buy this bike but facing a big issue that Himalayan don't have kick start .is that a big issue. or if I stuck anywhere and the self don't work properly then what should I will do .?and what's the millage is .

This is a MAJOR CONVERN ON the Royal Enfield Himalahyan. They don't make a bike that can work properly on a battery and also decide to not give a kick. :( Royal Enfield sold me this bike that had to be taken to the service center every alternate month in the first 6 months. The brand changed a part worth 11K, for which they did not give me any details. Post 6 months in Jan 2020, the bike's battery completely drained out when not used for about 20-25 days. The problem has been there in the bike ever since. If the bike is not ridden for even 12-15 days, the battery drains out and the bike won't start. In the lock down situation, where I can not ride bike on an everyday basis the bike has gone to service center atleast 6-7 times in the last 1.5 years. Again the service teams do not tell me what work is being done on the bike and send the bike back after 5-6 days. AND!! I face the same problem in another 10-15 days, if I don't ride it.The brand is blaming this problem on me stating that the issue is due usage and storage patter.I want to understand that if this problem exists in all Royal Enfield Himalayans out there? Does all your battery completely drains out if not used for 10-12 days?Also since the first week of buying the bike's engine goes off while riding. Have been in bad spots on road due to this issue. The brand is not able to find a fix for this either.The bike is called a Himalayhan but can not withstand Bangalore weather for 10 days..

My brother have himalayan, and after sitting idle for 15-20 days ,his battery is low. We are sure its battery issue and now during the lockdown there RE service centers are gone and no other way to start the bike .So there will rarely be issue of battery if you are using bike regulary or on a trip but still better keep a spare battery because without battery 200kg of bike is useless.

I can understand your concern boss... My Hinalayan is two and haf years old now. Its odo shows 30,000. City and Highway mixed. I have never once faced an issue where hinalayan doesnt start and i feel like using a kick. Once in the rain floods my bike got clogged with water. I pushed it in the 1st gear for few meters and the bike started with bit of clogged coughing and 3 to 5 seconds later it was idling like a regulard day idle. Please dont ask for Mileage. Its a purpose built bike. Everyone gets mileage as per their usage and carb tuning. Varies between 25 to 32

There's one way to get a bike/car started without kick and when self is down. Indian Jugaadu language is 'dhakka start'! 😀 I know it is a very difficult thing to pull off on such a heavy bike..and doing it amidst traffic is not possible .but that is one of the ways you can try when all other options have run out.

Agreed that kickstart is old technology but one of the safest solution in all the time for motorcycles (open Engine machine). Since these bikes go for the long riding you should provide kick option on upcoming series.

There is no kick start because the engine is electrically fuel injected. So unless the battery has any complaint there wont be any problem.

You dont need to worry,If the kick fails you can easily push start it.They have doubled the number of pins in the magneto compared to regular bikes so you can push start it alone .

Most of the bikes nowadays do not come with kick start..and it is not a big issue..electric start work perfectly..and its milege is around 25kmpl
