Given the GS lineage, expectations from the GS as a proper mini ADV were high. However, it fails to impress on many counts. For starters, the motor lacks punch lower down the rev range and is vibey, which makes attempting off-roading or touring mildly taxing. The extremely soft suspension tuning means it bottoms out easily and can’t really be hustled on a twisty road, Where it scores is in the styling and quality department, but misses the mark on the features front. Having said that, the BMW G 310 GS is not a bad bike. It just did not live up to our expectations that come from experiencing the larger GS bikes. So, at its price, it might not be a value for the money bike. On the other hand, owning and riding multiple motorcycles is a luxury that few can afford and even fewer can truly enjoy. If the Himalayan is on your shopping list, it’s quite likely that it’s going to be your only motorcycle. And as an only motorcycle, it is as close to perfect as you can get in this price range, or even a few rungs higher, for that matter. This really is the Swiss Army Knife of motorcycles. It is a capable, versatile, one-size-fits-all motorcycle. Need something to ferry you to the office and back? No problem. Want to cruise the highways on weekends? It’ll do it all day and all night long. This is just the bike for the job. It’ll even keep you entertained on the twisty bits of tarmac you’ll find on the way. Short of hooning about on track, this is the one motorcycle that’ll do pretty much any and everything you ask of it, without protest or complaint. It may not be as in-your-face as some of the previous updates, but the Himalayan BS6 is a slightly more well-rounded and desirable motorcycle than before. Do take a test ride in order to clear your all doubts. Check out authorised dealership details.
