Updated: 17 July 2026. The Renault K-ZE is an upcoming Hatchback expected to launch in India at an estimated ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom). It is expected to get an electric powertrain. Once launched, it will rival the Maruti Swift, Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20.

The Renault Kwid EV's European version, the Dacia Spring, has scored 1 star in the Euro NCAP safety test. The model tested received 49 percent in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 56 percent in Child Occupant Protection (COP), 32 percent in Safety Assists, and 39 percent in Vulnerable Road Users protection. It was equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Renault had showcased the all-electric Spring, known as the K-ZE, at the 2020 Auto Expo. However, there's no specific timeline for its launch. When it does, it will likely take on the upcoming Mahindra eKUV100.
The Kwid EV could be the most sensible and affordable EV for the masses in India. Its just that we will have to wait for a long time for it to get here.
