The charging port on the Punch EV is located at the front, unlike the Nexon EV and Tiago EV.
First electric model from Tata based on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform.
May feature an updated dashboard and a new 2-spoke steering wheel.
Tata could launch it by the end of 2023, priced from Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
The next electric car from Tata is going to be the Punch EV (expected by the end of 2023), which will also be the carmaker’s first EV to be based on the ALFA platform. The electric version of the micro SUV has been spied previously, but this time a few new spy images have emerged online that show a test mule of the Punch EV with new details.

The test mule can be seen charging at a charging station for the very first time. The latest spy image also tells us that the charging port on the Punch EV is located at the front, unlike the Nexon EV and Tiago EV. The front of the Punch EV looks largely similar to its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) iteration, but will likely feature some EV specific blue elements on the grille and bumper like other Tata EVs.
Another spy image gives us the profile view of the Punch EV, showing that it will look identical to its ICE version. It can be seen standing on the Tiago’s alloy wheels, unlike the ones offered with the regular Tata Punch.

Going by the previous sightings, the Punch EV will feature an updated dashboard design along with the new 2-spoke steering wheel, which has also been spotted on the upcoming Tata Nexon facelift.
The Punch’s electric version will retain a lot of features from its ICE version. It will likely get a touchscreen system, a semi-digital driver’s display, and a touch-based climate control panel. The electric micro SUV is also expected to come with automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers, and cruise control. It could also get up to six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and a reversing camera.

Just like the current Tata EVs, the Punch EV is also expected to offer two battery pack options. These choices would enable you to have a claimed range of 300km to 350km. Since it will be positioned below the Nexon EV, its power output is expected to be around 100PS.
The Tata Punch EV could have a starting price of around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom), and it will be a direct rival to the Citroen eC3. The electric micro SUV will serve as a premium alternative to the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV.
