Based on extensive consumer research in India, two global powerhouses, Visteon and 3M have come together to develop a car fine-tuned for the evolving automobile market that continues to be challenged in its constant struggle to meet the needs of its overly discerning and preference driven customers.
Working in close collaboration, Visteon and 3M have unveiled a demonstration car, called the Growth Market Car which while using the Maruti-Suzuki A-Star canvas clearly demonstrates the integration of advanced technologies in automobiles in an attempt to enhance and improve the overall driving experience.

Key themes of the growth market car are modular design with certain interior components and systems that can be installed or excluded based on driver preference; and scalable platforms engineered to allow a wide range of features to be added cost effectively.
Being a leading global automotive supplier that manufactures innovative climate, electronic, interior and lighting products for vehicle manufacturers, Visteon also took this opportunity to showcase its “C-Beyond” demonstration vehicle in India, a totally new concept vehicle that was a futuristic example of connected and sustainable mobility that we can expect to see in cars in the near future.

“Concepts like the C-Beyond will encourage vehicle manufacturers to ‘see beyond’ the conventional role of the vehicle to create an innovative user experience enabled by Visteon’s technology and advanced development,” said Robert C. Pallash, Visteon Global Customer Group President.
While Visteon did wonders to the modular design and interior components of the 'Growth Market Car', Vehicle personalization experts 3M on the other hand worked their magic on the interiors of the car, which included interior trim film which replaced the look of hard plastic parts, as well as 3M™ Paint Protection Film to protect the exterior finish and Scotchcal™ Vehicle Graphics to enhance the vehicle exterior. 3M™ Light String and 3M™ Light Management Lens helped create both ambient and functional solutions by enabling even illumination and reduced complexity in both the interior and exterior spaces. 3M™ Structural Adhesives, Acrylic Foam Tapes, and optimized Sound Management solutions helped to reduce the overall weight of the car.

Happy with the overall outcomes of 3M’s collaboration with Visteon for this project, Mr. S. Sashidharan, vice president Transportation Business, 3M India stated, "This is our second initiative with Visteon and we are pleased to be part of this exciting project. 3M and Visteon's ongoing relationship leverages the strengths of both companies, and results in more relevant applications of technologies to India and other
target markets.”
The growth market car will be demonstrated to manufacturers in India, as well as Japan, China, Brazil, and Europe. For more information about this technology demonstration vehicle, visit: www.visteon.com/innovate/growthmarket and www.3M.com/autoinnovate
