Suzuki iM-4 compact SUV patent images leaked

Patent images of Suzuki’s next compact SUV have surfaced online. The iM-4 as it is currently coded, in these patent images, reveals what the production version of the iM-4 concept will look like.

Going by the image above, the production version loses the all-LED headlamps and features toned down styling to appeal to a wider audience in its major markets - Japan and India. Rest of the design including the grille, front bumper, fog lamp detail and flared wheel arches will make it to production. Side vents along the bonnet line will also make it as will the detailing on the C-Pillar. The rear gets most of the detailing but comes without the roof mounted spoiler and reflectors in the rear bumper.

The iM-4 is the crossover twin of the Baleno hatchback and shares the same chassis, mechanicals and possibly most of the powertrains as well. The concept however is a 4x4, comes with 18 inch wheels and raised ride height for the SUV stance. Expect the production version to feature 15/16 inch wheels. Choice of engines will most likely be the new 1-litre boosterjet turbo petrol and the 1.3-litre multijet diesel when the compact SUV makes it to India.
