Racing game aficionados have a Christmas treat in store now as Sony has announced the worldwide release of its highly popular GT6 racing game. The game can only be played on the Play Station 3 console. The game goes on sale today priced at Rs 3,499 for the Standard Edition and Rs 4,299 for the Anniversary Edition.
This version features 1200 cars and 37 tracks. The developers have also added the Silverstone circuit, Mount Panorama and the Ascari race track in this game. To this new version, 120 new cars have been added to the already impressive line-up. These include the latest race cars from the FIA GT3, Le Mans Series, World Rally Championship and Nascar line-up. You can also race the Lunar Rover vehicle in a special event! Furthermore, the GT6 will get a community feature update that makes it compatible with mobile devices. While the GT6 will feature cars with brands from around the world, one that will be missed is Ferrari.

Speaking on the occasion Atindriya Bose, Country Head, PlayStation India said, “GT6 will reinforce the thrills of car racing through the convergence of the virtual and the real world with its special attention to precision and real driving simulation. Focusing on the car and racing enthusiasts, we ran a month long partnership with Mercedes Benz as a build up to the final launch event of Gran Turismo 6 in the India market. We are confident that GT6 will set new standards for car racing on gaming consoles.”
The game will also have micro-transactions this time, enabling you to use real money to purchase in-game cars. You can purchase credits with your hard-earned cash and buy some very exclusive cars. Popular gaming review website, IGN says that the most expensive car to buy is the Jaguar XJ13 which is priced at 20,000,000 credits.
