In a push to widen its service touchpoint network around India, Skoda has announced that it will be setting up 30 of what it calls ‘compact workshops’ by the end of this year. These workshops will operate alongside the main dealership outlets and will be introduced at non-metro locations. The carmaker currently has over 170 touchpoints spread across 100 cities in India.
The workshop itself will be capable of accommodating a minimum service facility of two bays. Here, Skoda owners can avail services such as periodic maintenance and general repairs, which includes replacing the brake oil, coolant, ATF (automatic transmission fluid), brake discs or pads, wiper blades, bulbs, as well as general inspection.
You can also get car detailing and accessories fitment done in these workshops. Of course the major jobs will be at the main workshop.
Skoda Auto India currently retails the Kushaq, Rapid, Octavia, and the Superb. The carmaker plans on bringing the facelifted Kodiaq by the end of this year and is set to introduce a successor to the Rapid entry-level sedan
