Segment Winners: Car of the Year 2010

2010 was a fantastic year for cars in India, and we had manufacturers from all corners of the world making a beeline for our shores. While last year was dominated by Indian manufacturers, it was time for the global makers to play catch this season - with the likes of Volkswagen, Nissan, General Motors and Ford coming out all guns blazing. The Indian contingent had its refreshed and ambitious wares on offer too - with the Aria from Tata Motors and the new WagonR and Alto from Maruti Suzuki, which chose the engine transplant opportunities to also take the game further away from the competition. While the fight may have been between the competent products, the larger picture that emerged this year is as clear a sign as any of the good times that lie ahead for motorists.
