Having organized over 250 motorsport events all over the country, Sportscraft comes together with Social Activist, The Rotary Club of Deonar in bringing to motoring enthusiasts a unique motocross event that will put their driving skills to the test.
Starting on Sunday, 20th February 2011, the first event RotoCross event has been organized for all interested Motocross enthusiasts, and will take place at the Somaiya grounds in Sion East, Central Mumbai. The event is being presented by Kotak Mahindra Bank and supported by Eureka Forbes Ltd.
Participants have to drive around a specially chalked out obstacle-laden, zig-zag course, and each is timed to the hundredth of a second. A 'touch' to any of the obstacles along the course entails a penalty of ten seconds, which is deducted from the final time registered by the rider during his exercise. The competitor posting the fastest/best time will be adjudged the 'Fastest Driver/Rider' of the meet.

One of the co-organizers of the RotoCross, the Rotary Club Deonar has a long history of being associated with social causes and Club’s core focus at the moment includes its Burns Clinic at Airoli, Livelihood support and rehabilitation of villages near Karjat and finally the eradication of Polio in the remote and underdeveloped regions in and around Maharashtra.
Bringing the real purpose of the organizing this one of a kind motorsport competition in the city of Mumbai, Shrikant Karani head of Sportscraft, said, "The event is being organized to help promote the worthy causes that the Rotary Club Deonar supports and works with. We also hope the event will help create awareness for road and driving discipline among two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers".
While many participants are excited about a massed start race as a part of the event, the RotoCross is to put it simply a time trial, which will examine how safe a rider you are. The event is also open to general public who can come and view this exciting event.
