Now, take your car for a spin on Buddh International Circuit

Indian motorsports broke new grounds with the inaugural Airtel Indian Grand Prix last year. The world appreciated the effort that went behind India's first Formula One track - the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.

A Herman Tilke-creation, the 5.14 km track was appreciated by the entire F1 paddock for its technical nature and billed one of the most exciting circuits in the 20-race calendar. Now the general public will get the opportunity to take their cars out on a spin on the F1 track with the owners Jaypee Sports International Limited (JPSI) coming up with Open Track Day. The first of these track days will take place on April 22.

"Mercedes-Benz already has a tie-up with JPSI and regularly organizes track days for its customers. We are sure it will be a thrilling experience for the participants to get a small taste of the F1 world," a JPSI official told TOI on Wednesday.

There will be six track days every year, first of which takes place next month. On each day, there will be three sessions for cars and one will be kept aside solely for bike-riders.

"In each session 30 fans will be able to take their personal vehicles for a spin around the track. The cost for a single session has been pegged at around Rs 8,500 and if a person books its for three session, he'll have to shell out Rs 20,000," the official said.

For bike-riders, the charges have been pegged at Rs 6,000 for a session. The Open Track Day will be between 7am and 6pm. The registration for the first track day will open next week and the forms for the same will be available of the Jaypee Sports website.

It's open for all

There will be four sessions - 3 sessions for cars and one session for bikes. Each session will see 30 fans driving their personal cars on the track. For cars, the price for a single session will be around Rs 8,500. If a fan books himself for all the three sessions, he will have to pay Rs 20,000. For bikes, the price will be Rs 6,000 for a session. There will be six open track days in a year.
