With the navigation sector in India growing and evolving rapidly, there have been innumerable trends in the sector, coming from India and abroad. NNG with its local strategic partner ANS, exhibited some of the recent trends in navigation solutions, not just in India but across the globe. On display were a bunch of navigation systems from Germany, China, Japan, United States and Hungary, with each one customised to suit the need of the customers that region.
Aside from the variations in navigation systems provided to different countries, NNG also delved into the future of navigation, the increasing role Smartphone play in cars and the evolution of infotainment system in cars.
The emergence of Smartphone integration in cars has helped fuse the dependability of embedded automotive solutions and the connectivity of Smartphone. Integration of Smartphone has several advantages, like maximising consumer appeal, overcomes connected device reliability issues, while simultaneously minimizing security threats and driver distraction. Moreover, the prime motive it to make in-car software as easy to update as applications on your Smartphone.
At the forefront of this technology, is the NNG developed NavFusion infotainment system. NavFusion synchronises personal data with the car’s infotainment system to adapt to the driver’s lifestyle and give him numerous personalised solutions.
Further, NNG has also worked towards enhancing the driving experience and taking the first step towards a completely automated car is the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). The ADAS is the solution to every problem that I driver comes across, right from opening up blind spots to making drivers aware about nearby dangers and incorporating GPS/traffic warnings.
Lastly, but most importantly, on display in the demo room, was the Human Machine Interface system (HMI) that is set to optimise the car’s infotainment system as per the style of driving. It harmonizes things like mobile devices, multiple screens, navigation systems and vehicle-specific technology and yet decreasing driver distraction.
