MG Motor India’s first product, the Hector is all set to hit our roads on 27 June. Bookings for the midsize connected SUV have begun for a token amount of Rs 50,000 with deliveries scheduled to begin soon after the launch. The first showroom in the country was inaugurated on 4 June and the manufacturer has started offering test drives of the SUV as well. MG plans to have 120 touch points in 50 cities when the Hector is launched in India.
The MG Hector will be available in a total of four variants -- Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. And thanks to a leak, we know exactly what features each variant will get.
The MG Hector will also be the first connected midsize SUV in its segment. The i-SMART connected tech offers more than 50 connectivity features to control various functions of the SUV. This includes remote engine start/stop, pre-heating the car on a cold morning and immobilising the vehicle in case it’s stolen. The MG Hector will be available with two engine options - a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine from the Jeep Compass. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol will also come with an option of a 48V mild-hybrid system.
