During the launch of the XUV700, we got to explore the midsize SUV’s colour choices that are currently available. Our media fleet, consisting of 67 vehicles, comprised four paint options: red, blue, dark blue, and silver. Let’s take a closer look at them:
Red: This is similar to the Thar’s ‘Red Rage’ colour. The MG Hector Plus has a similar shade of red.
Dark Blue: Here, Mahindra has tried to mimic the Safari’s ‘Royale Blue’. However, the XUV700’s shade is a tad darker, appearing almost black from a distance.

Silver: This shade looks neat on the XUV700. The SUV’s alternatives like the Hyundai Alcazar, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Skoda Kushaq are also available in this colour.
Blue: This is similar to the ‘Starry Sky Blue’ on the MG Hector Plus. Even smaller-sized rivals like the Kia Seltos offer a similar shade of blue called ‘Intelligency Blue.’
Mahindra could offer more colour options once the final specifications and brochure have been finalised. This author hopes the carmaker provides the SUV with the stealthy black similar to the Harrier Dark Edition.
Currently, the XUV700 has been launched in India from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). As of now, it’s available as a five-seater in four entry-level variants: MX Petrol, MX Diesel, AX3 Petrol, and AX5 Petrol. All variants get a manual gearbox and front-wheel drive. Mahindra will announce the prices of the seven-seater, automatic, and all-wheel drive variants soon. Deliveries are expected to commence in the coming months. Here is a quick rundown on the XUV700.
