Homer Simpson debuts on TomTom App

We have seen some of the funkiest navigation and GPS apps from TomTom over the years. From a glove friendly intuitive navigation device for two wheelers to the world’s most accurate traffic map, the Nertherlands based Navigation expert has always pushed the brink of GPS technology in order bring the world closer.

Amongst a range of personalized apps available to users via TomTom is the artificial voice projection capabilities that make use of celebrity voices to co-pilot a drivers journey, thus making his/her drive more entertaining and humourous, while being thoroughly informative and accurate.

Star Wars characters like the Dark Vader and Yoda have already found their voices on TomTom navigation apps, and have found wide appeal amongst star war fans. However, newest addition to this list is a cartoon character, whose eccentricity and effortless humour has entertained family living rooms since the 1990’s.

We are talking about none other than Homer Simpson, the lead animated character of one Television’s biggest comedy sitcoms yet. The voice app is currently available in the US, marking it the first time a celebrity voice has ever been available for mobile phone based GPS.  Additional territories include Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Portugal, Luxembourg, Finland, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and South Africa. 

Developed in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products (FCP) and Locutio Voice, the original Homer voice for iPhone comes with all the latest and updated maps is now available for £3.49 (256.8INR) on the new TomTom iPhone app v1.7.
