Haval has showcased the F7x at Auto Expo 2020

  • The F7x gets a sloping roofline making it an SUV coupe.
  • It is mechanically similar to the standard F7.
  • Powered by 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre turbo petrol engines.
  • Haval will kick start its operations in India with the H6 SUV.

Great Wall Motors has brought in an overwhelming number of cars at Auto Expo 2020. It is no secret that SUVs are all the rage and GWM’s SUV wing, Haval, has showcased a couple of them. We would also like to report that Haval has not only bought SUVs, but also an SUV coupe. Meet the F7x!

The F7x is identical to the F7, up until the B-pillar. The obvious change lies in the roofline, which now slopes to give it a coupe-like stance. Apart from this, all the other design elements remain the same. Highlights include a large grille and slim headlamps. Overall, the F7 is a better-looking SUV as the coupe-like roofline in the F7x isn't the best we’ve seen.

The F7x is also mechanically identical to the standard F7. There are two engine options on offer in markets abroad: a 1.5-litre turbo petrol producing 150PS of power and 280Nm of torque and a more powerful 2.0-litre petrol unit good enough for 190PS and 340Nm. The Haval F7x takes 7.5 seconds to sprint from 0-100kmph. Both the engines come paired to a 7-speed DCT.

Inside, the dashboard features a distinct design with a 9-inch touchscreen, huge AC vents, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Also not to miss out the slight inclination of the dashboard to the driver's side for improved ergonomics. Some notable kit on offer are different driving modes, adaptive cruise control, head-on collision warning system, and emergency braking system, binary star intelligent dual display, traffic jam assist, and semi auto parking.

Haval has not yet revealed its plans for the F7x. In all probability, the F7 will debut first only to be followed by the F7x. Meanwhile, Haval will start its operation in India with the Seltos-rivalling H6 SUV.
