The Skoda Kylaq is one of the firsts from the Czech automaker, considering their sub-4m SUV portfolio in India. Its deliveries commenced today, meaning you could take home your Kylaq anytime. Slotted below the Kushaq, the Kylaq borrows a little resemblance from the elder one and adds its essence to that with many good features and a segment-first on offer. If you haven’t booked the Kylaq till now and are pondering upon your consideration, here’s a quick summary of the entire details of the new Skoda in town:
The Skoda Kylaq sub-compact SUV has a well-known design but is distinguished by several unique styling cues. It has 17-inch alloy wheels, split headlamps, and thin, square-like taillights, for instance.
You can have it in 7 different colour options: Lava Blue, Olive Gold, Candy White, Tornado Red, Deep Black, Brilliant Silver, and Carbon Steel.
As for design, the Skoda Kylaq resembles a lot of elements from its bigger sibling Kushaq with slight tweaks like a blacked-out butterfly grille, re-positioned lighting elements and re-designed alloys. It measures something as below:
Length |
3995 mm |
Width |
1783 mm |
Height |
1619 mm |
Wheelbase |
2566 mm |
The Kylaq's interior cabin is similar to that of the Kushaq and Slavia. However, it has a distinctive dashboard trim and a dual-tone design with silver and chrome accents. A touch-capacitive climate control panel, two-spoke steering wheel, and freestanding infotainment system are also included.
As for features, it is equipped with a host of features, such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated and powered front seats, a sunroof, a wireless phone charger, auto-dimming IRVM, ambient lighting, connected car tech and a cooled glovebox.
For safety, the Kylaq is equipped with 6 airbags (as standard), ABS with EBD, electronic stability programme (ESP), hill hold control, multi-collision brakes and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The Skoda Kylaq is mated to a 1-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that delivers 115 PS and 178 Nm. Mated to this motor is a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-convertor automatic transmission.
Prices of the Skoda Kylaq range from Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 14.4 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the likes of Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
With all this in mind, do you think the Kylaq has got all that you need? Or could it bring a little more on plate for the price it asks? Let us know in the comments below.
