5 Things We Love About The 2025 Renault Kiger highlights

The Renault Kiger has been among those SUVs that punch above their weight. It's cool without being too flashy, roomy enough for family use, and priced in such a manner that it doesn't get your bank account to groan. With the 2025 facelift now, Renault has put some more polish on the package, sharper looks, better features, and an even greater emphasis on safety.

But does it remain standing tall against the tide of competitors such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV 3XO? Having spent time with it, here are five things that truly impressed us:

1) Youth-Appealing Design

There are SUVs in this category that go overboard with the chrome, and others attempt to appear too muscle-bound. The Kiger's more lean, sporty approach works particularly well for younger customers. The facelift features a new grille, a neater bumper, and a sharper set of LED fog lamps, all of which give it a more premium feel without sacrificing the cool factor.

From the side, the coupe-like roofline and flared arches still have it set apart. And with its 205 mm ground clearance, the Kiger still appears every inch the SUV it boasts of being.

2) Finally, The Features It Needed

The pre-facelift Kiger was always a little behind the competition in terms of equipment. Renault has rectified that. The refreshed version of the car gets ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, and a 360-degree camera. More significantly, six airbags are now standard across the lineup, a huge thumbs-up for safety.

You still don't have a sunroof or upscale connected car features like some of its competitors, but the essentials are indeed very well addressed. The 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, wireless charging pad, and Arkamys-tuned 6-speaker setup make the cabin feel up-to-date without overdoing it.

3) The New Colour That Pops

Renault has introduced a new Oasis Yellow hue to the Kiger, and it's quite possibly one of the most pleasing colours available in the sub-4m segment currently. With the contrast black roof and those fresh alloy wheels, it draws attention in the right kind of manner. Coupled with choices such as Caspian Blue and Radiant Red, the Kiger's colour palette has something for every personality.

4) Big On Space, Small On Fuss

Step inside, and the Kiger surprises you with just how spacious it feels for a sub-compact SUV. The rear bench is broad enough to accommodate three adults comfortably, and there's ample enough knee room even for six-footers. The seat base is supportive enough, and rear AC vents make life more convenient in the hot summer.

In addition to that, Renault has also remembered the small things, such as a chilled glovebox for your beverage, decent bottle holders within the doors, and a large 405-litre boot that devours weekend bags with aplomb. For the family, these small details equate to a car that's really easy to live with.

5) The Turbo-CVT Sweet Spot

If all you need is a basic city commuter, the 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol will suffice. But if you prefer your drives with a little oomph, it's the 1-litre turbo with the CVT that makes all the difference.

In town, it's smooth and sophisticated, with the smooth power delivery hiding the turbo lag. On the highway, there's sufficient brawn to make overtakes a breeze, without being greedy. Renault quotes over 20 kmpl, and although you might not quite hit that in the real world, it's still a good trade-off for what you do get.

ZigSays…

The Kiger has not suddenly remade itself with this makeover, but it didn't need to. What Renault has done is refined the rough edges: the design looks more modern, the spec sheet is improved, and the standard safety equipment gives peace.

Yes, the plastics could feel a bit more premium, and a sunroof would’ve been nice to have. But if you’re after a compact SUV that balances style, practicality, and value, the Renault Kiger is still one of the smartest picks in the segment.
