After a somewhat easy 2015, Hero MotoCorp seems to be gearing up for the 2016 with several launches on the cards. They will showcase the Zir and Dare scooters that were also on display at the 2014 Auto Expo.
This time round however, Hero is expected to launch both in the Indian market. Of the two, the Zir was the one that grabbed the most eyeballs. Unveiled in two models - the flat board and a European style step through, the Zir comes loaded with features never seen before in that segment like projector headlmaps, LED turn indicators, DRLs and more. At the heart of things the Zir sports a 157cc liquid-cooled mill that pumps 14PS of power and 12.7Nm of torque. Hero claims that the ZIR can hit a top speed of 110km/h.
Hero will also showcase the Dare – a 125cc offering that Hero has developed to appeal to male audiences. From its 125cc engine, the Dare makes 9PS and 9.5Nm. Just like the Zir, this one too will sport LED Daytime Running Lamps, front disc brake, fully digital instrumentation and more.

Also on display will be the HX250R, the first motorcycle co-developed with EBR. It comes powered by a 249cc single cylinder liquid unit that is good for 31 horses. Hero claims that it can touch the 60kmph marker in just 2.7 seconds. The engine is all-aluminium; and it gets a combination ABS system, under-seat exhaust and single shock rear suspension.
Aside from these models that have already been showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, Hero will also have a facelifted Super Splendor at their pavilion. This new offering will feature the i3S technology that we have already seen on the Splendor iSmart thereby resulting in improved efficiency.
