Believe it or not, under this classic design is an extremely modern all-electric car. Donning a Shelby Daytona body design is the just unveiled 2015 Renovo Coupe which the company calls - ‘America's First All-Electric Supercar’. This electric sports car has been designed and built in Silicon valley of the US, and is based on a modified Shelby American CSX9000 rolling chassis.
Complimenting the timeless sporty design is an ultra powerful mill consisting of a lithium-ion battery and direct-drive twin sequential axial flux motors capable to churn out about 500PS and an unbelievable 1,355Nm of torque. The 2015 Renovo Coupe has enough fire power to rocket from 0-100kmph in a blistering sub-3.4 seconds, with a top-speed of close to 200kmph.
What makes this conventional sports car shredder, the 2015 Renovo Coupe, special is that the 1,475kg vehicle emits no pollution and can travel for close to 150km on a single charge. Recharging is simple, just plug in to a DC socket for a quick charger in a half hour, and takes about 5 hours to charge using a standard plug point.
The 2015 Renovo Coupe was one of the highlights at the prestigious 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance held in California last weekend. Reports suggest that this ridiculously fast electric sports car could cost around a whooping Rs 3.2 crore in the US. Well, that’s the price you pay to help the company with a sole aim ‘to build the world's most exciting vehicles’.
