Nissan has launched the Magnite Red Edition in India and has priced it from Rs 7.87 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are already underway and the Red Edition is based on the second-from-top XV trim. This new version of the subcompact SUV has been introduced to commemorate its 1 lakh bookings and 50,000 deliveries milestone.
Nissan offers the Magnite Red Edition with all three powertrain options. Take a look at the variant-wise prices:

As its name suggests, the Magnite Red Edition boasts plentiful red highlights for that trendy look. So, there are plenty of red highlights tastefully plastered on the front grille, skid plate, under the window lining, brake calipers, wheel arch cladding, and on the rear bumper. Thankfully, the application ain’t overboard and the Magnite Red Edition does look pleasing.
Things are more radical on the inside. The centre trim on the dashboard is now finished in… you guessed it… red, while the seats and plenty of trims around the lower central console are now finished in black/red. It doesn’t stop there as the ambient lighting in the footwell area is now illuminated in… red. So plenty of red touches for the money.
In terms of features, the Magnite Red Edition additionally gets a wireless phone charger, PM 2.5 AC filter and LED scuff plates, basically bits that are offered through the optional ‘Premium Pack’ in top variants, over the XV. Other notable goodies include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, and a reversing camera.
The Magnite Red Edition gets the standard model’s 72PS naturally aspirated and 100PS turbocharged 1-litre turbo-petrol engine options. A 5-speed manual is standard, while the optional CVT is exclusive to the turbo-petrol engine.
The Nissan Magnite Red Edition does seem like a value for money offering with the amount of upgrades it has received. This particular edition can be had in either black or white body colours. Its rivals include the Tata Punch, Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the soon-to-be launched Citroen C3.
