Toyota India has launched the new-generation Vellfire on our shores from Rs 1.2 crore (ex-showroom). That’s a premium of around Rs 23 lakh over the outgoing Vellfire. Unlike the previous-generation model, the new Vellfire comes in two broad variants: Hi and VIP Executive Lounge. Bookings for the new generation MPV are now open.

 Here’s a look at its variant-wise prices:

Vellfire Design

No doubt, the Vellfire’s design looks like a van from the side. But the Land Cruiser-inspired fascia with its humongous slatted grille and sharply styled LED headlights give it a formidable presence. In profile, the van-like silhouette gets multiple creases and large 19-inch alloys that add a dollop of character. And topping up the look is a stylish set of connected LED tail lamps and bold ‘VELLFIRE’ badging.

You get to choose from three exterior hues: Black, Precious Metal and Platinum White Pearl.

Vellfire Interior

The Vellfire’s cabin takes the opulence quotient a couple of notches up. Dominating the cabin is a gigantic 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is the largest for a Toyota in India. Thankfully, physical controls have been retained for important functions. Other changes to the dash include a new digital driver’s display and 3-spoke steering wheel.

Obviously, the Vellfire’s highlight is its second row. Opt for the top-spec Executive Lounge trim and you’re greeted by two large Ottoman seats that we bet will beat the comfort of your couch at home. These seats can be adjusted in multiple ways to find your perfect seating position and get a massage function for that added dose of pampering. And on top of that, rear seat occupants get 14-inch screens for their own entertainment.

While the Hi variant gets an all-black interior, you get to choose from three hues in the top-spec model: black, tan and beige.

Vellfire Features

Notable features in the Vellfire include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple zones of climate control, 14-colour ambient lighting, powered sliding rear doors, a 15-speaker JBL sound system, and a wireless phone charger. On the safety front, it gets six airbags, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors and ADAS.

Vellfire Powertrain

Things are very familiar here as the Vellfire continues to get a 2.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain putting out a combined output of 193PS and 240Nm. Drive is sent to the road via an e-CVT. Internationally, you do get more powertrain options, details of which can be found here.

Vellfire Rivals

After the discontinuation of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class, the Vellfire doesn’t have any direct rivals on our shores. However, you can consider it as an alternative to luxury 3-row SUVs such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7.
