Renault recently updated the Kiger sub-4m SUV with refreshed styling inside out, along with added features. It takes on models like the Maruti Fronx, which is known for its crossover-inspired design. It also leans towards a more upmarket cabin and wider engine choices, with the Kiger offering a similar package.
With both targeting the same crowd but taking different routes, the question becomes clear, should you choose the 2025 Kiger facelift or go for the Maruti Fronx instead? Let’s compare both SUVs in terms of their pricing, features, and specifications.

Rs 7.59 lakh to Rs 13.07 lakh |
The Renault Kiger makes its case right from the start with a more accessible price tag. It starts at nearly Rs 1.30 lakh less than the Maruti Fronx, and the gap only widens as you move up the variants, with the top-spec Kiger undercutting the Fronx by nearly Rs 1.70 lakh.

Sizing-wise, the Renault Kiger and Maruti Fronx are almost neck and neck. The Kiger’s taller stance gives it a more muscular profile. On the other hand, the Fronx is a touch wider and has a slightly longer wheelbase, traits that are likely to offer passengers a bit more shoulder room and overall cabin space.

On the features front, the Maruti Fronx pulls slightly ahead with a larger infotainment screen, connected car technology for added convenience, and a 360-degree camera system. That said, the Renault Kiger is not left behind, as it packs a fully digital driver’s display, something the Fronx skips. Over the Fronx, the 2025 Kiger also features a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The 2025 Kiger is available with a 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine. The former delivers 72 PS and 96 Nm, and is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission choice. While the latter puts out 100 PS and up to 160 Nm, paired to a 5-speed manual or a CVT-type automatic gearbox.

With the Maruti Fronx as well, you get the choice of a naturally aspirated petrol engine and a turbo-petrol unit. The 1.2-litre NA motor produces 90 PS and 113 Nm, and is available with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol makes 100 PS and 148 Nm, and can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
Of the two, the 2025 Kiger stands out as the more affordable choice. It also offers a more potent turbo-petrol engine option, making it a good pick for those who want performance without stretching their budget. The Fronx, on the other hand, gets a better-equipped cabin and a more powerful NA petrol unit than the Kiger, though it does come with a higher price tag.
