Facelift launches play a key role in keeping car models fresh without requiring a complete overhaul. Typically, these updates bring subtle design changes, new features, and other minor enhancements, but at times turn out to be some of the most exciting launches of the year.
In this report, we dive into the upcoming facelifted car launches you should keep an eye on. These include recent sightings of the facelifted Tata Punch and Mahindra XUV700, along with a couple of confirmed updates across different segments. Take a look.
Expected Launch: September 2025
Estimated Price: From Rs 6.50 lakh
Tata Motors is gearing to launch the facelifted Punch towards the latter half of 2025. Spy shots hint at cosmetic updates inspired by the Punch EV, including sleeker LED DRLs and a refreshed front design. The interior of the upcoming Punch is also expected to get a more modern layout, with a new feature set. Mechanically, it will likely retain the same 1.2-litre petrol engine which is available with manual and AMT gearbox options, along with the factory-fitted CNG kit.

Expected Launch: 2025-end
Estimated Price: From Rs 11 lakh
The 3-door Mahindra Thar is set to receive a facelift this year, taking cues from its bigger sibling, the Thar Roxx. While its rugged styling will stay intact, the 2025 Thar is expected to gain modern features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital driver’s display, ventilated seats, wireless charging, and auto AC. Safety upgrades could include a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS. Engine options are likely to remain unchanged, with petrol and diesel choices across rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options.

Expected Launch: Early 2026
Estimated Price: From Rs 15 lakh
While the Thar facelift isn’t the only update Mahindra is working on, the brand is also preparing to launch the facelifted XUV700 with its first major update since debut. The facelift is expected to bring minor design tweaks, including a revised front fascia, while retaining the overall silhouette.

Inside, updates may include a larger infotainment system, rear ventilated seats, digital key, and self-parking assist. No changes are expected under the hood, with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines continuing to be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options.
Expected Launch: To be Announced
Expected Price: Around Rs 10.50 lakh
Skoda is preparing a major facelift for the Slavia sedan, as confirmed by the brand’s India Director, Ashish Gupta, during a recent media roundtable. With the update the current 1-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-petrols engine options will be retained. However, the update will bring refreshed exterior styling, a revamped interior, and added features.

These will likely include an updated digital driver’s display, a 360-degree camera system, ADAS, and a premium audio system. An exact launch timeline has not been shared yet, but the updated Slavia is expected to arrive soon. Since the Slavia shares its underpinnings with the Volkswagen Virtus, the latter could also receive a facelift around the same time.
Expected Launch: To be Announced
Expected Price: Around Rs 11 lakh
At the same roundtable, Ashish Gupta also confirmed that the Kushaq will receive a major facelift as well. It will continue to be offered with familiar powertrain choices, and will boast cosmetic changes inside out. These also include possible additions of electronic parking brake, a larger digital instrument cluster, and Level 2 ADAS.

While it won’t grow in size just yet, these upgrades aim to give it a more premium edge over rivals. Given the Kushaq’s close ties to the Volkswagen Taigun, the latter could also get a similar update alongside.
Expected Launch: Late 2025
Expected Price: Around Rs 6.50 lakh
Renault is expected to launch the facelifted Triber by the end of this year. While its overall design is likely to remain similar, it could feature a revised front fascia, refreshed alloy wheels, and slightly tweaked LED lighting. Inside, the upcoming Triber may offer features like automatic climate control, a digital driver’s display, and connected car tech, while continuing to offer equipment like rear AC vents and an 8-inch touchscreen.

Renault may also introduce the 100 PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine with the updated Triber, while retaining the current naturally aspirated petrol option.
Alongside the Triber, Renault is also likely to roll out the facelifted version of Kiger later this year. It is expected to receive minor styling tweaks and interior revisions, while retaining its current feature set and powertrain options

This concludes our list of upcoming facelift launches. If you’ve been planning to upgrade, these refreshed models might be worth the wait. Let us know which one you are most excited about in the comments below.
