Will be available with 1-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines.
Equipped with a 10-inch infotainment screen, 6 airbags and a sunroof.
Likely to be priced from Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Skoda Slavia sedan has begun reaching dealerships ahead of its scheduled official launch. You’ll be able to test drive the sedan from later this month onwards, and the prices will be announced in March. It’ll lock horns with the Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and it’s expected to cost around Rs 10.5 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).
Admittedly, the Skoda Slavia doesn’t seem significantly smaller next to the Octavia sedan in the pictures. It’s based on a localised version of the global MQB A0 platform that’s good for a commodious 2.6-metre wheelbase and 521-litre boot. It’ll be available in three trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style, and the pictured Crystal Blue sedan seems to be the top-spec manual variant.
The Slavia will replace the Rapid as Skoda’s entry-level sedan. It’ll be available with 115PS 1-litre and 150PS 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engines. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard, and 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions will be available with the 1-litre and 1.5-litre engines, respectively.

Inside, the Slavia will be loaded with features such as a single-pane sunroof, a 10-inch infotainment screen, and an 8-inch digital driver’s display. All variants will get a tyre pressure monitoring system and cruise control as standard.
You’ll be able to have a go in the Skoda Slavia before its launch when test drives open later in February. Starting at an expected price of Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom), it’ll lock horns with its segment rivals, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, and the Hyundai Verna. That said, higher-spec 1.5-litre TSI variants could be more expensive than the competition.
