What a year 2021 was for Rolls Royce! Braving a global economic downturn and a spate of lockdowns, the luxury carmaker sold 5,586 cars across the globe, an increase of 49 percent from 2020. These are also the best-ever sales figures in its 117-year history.
The company’s sales were, as expected, spearheaded by the Ghost, its entry-level luxury sedan that can give swanky and lavish yachts a run for their money. The Black Badge Ghost also helped the sedan’s appeal. That aside, the Cullinan SUV and the top-of-the-line Phantom also sent the cash registers ringing.
Such has been their business that you will have to wait till the fourth quarter of 2022 to buy a new Rolls Royce as the company has its hands full for the remainder of the year. The carmaker’s factory is working at nearly full capacity to ensure timely deliveries.

Besides principal offerings, bespoke commissions and collection cars also helped to fill the British carmaker’s coffers. Some notable ones were the Phantom Oribe (co-created with Hermès), Black Badge Wraith, and Rolls’ coach-built car, the Boat Tail.
The next model from Rolls Royce will be the all-electric Spectre, which is currently under testing. The wraps will come off by the end of next year.
