2.3-litre EcoBoost and V8 petrol engines to be carried over.
Could be offered with electrified powertrains as well.
Expected to carry forward the iconic fastback body shape to the current model.
India launch expected sometime in 2024.
A new report suggests that the next-generation Ford Mustang will shed its camouflage at the 2022 North American International Detroit Auto Show in September.
Now in its seventh-generation, the Mustang (internally named S650) will continue with its 2.3-litre Ecoboost and 5-litre V8 Coyote engines. Earlier reports suggest that the new muscle car will get hybrid powertrains as well.

We have only seen the seventh-gen Mustang in spy shots of camouflaged test mules. Nevertheless, it’s clear to see that it retains its predecessor’s wide, low stance and fastback roofline. The new Mustang will get three-element headlights with a trapezoidal front grille. Expect the triple-slit light signature for the taillamps to be carried forward as well

The new Mustang has been spied with a redesigned interior that features a new flat bottom steering wheel and digital driver’s display. It appears to have a redesigned dashboard layout with the central touchscreen above the central AC vents.

We expect the seventh-generation Ford Mustang to be offered in India, possibly sometime in 2024. Its predecessor was discontinued in India during the switch to BS6-compliant engines, and since then, Ford has shut down production of its cars here. The US-based carmaker plans to bring completely built-up units of global models such as the Mustang coupe and Mustang Mach E electric SUV to the country.
