Mini India is gearing up to introduce its most performance-oriented Countryman yet to the Indian market. The Mini Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) is slated to arrive on our shores on 14 October 2025. Pre-launch bookings are already underway for the SUV. With this, Mini aims to not only widen its presence in India, but also present to us a performance SUV to compete with the top names in the luxury segment.
Below is a breakdown of what to expect, from styling to powertrain. So read on as we cover all the details of the upcoming Countryman JCW.
The JCW version of the Countryman adopts aggressive visual upgrades over the standard model, reinforcing its sporty credentials. It sports a blacked-out grille with the brand’s signature chequered-flag motif to give the front fascia a bolder look. Enlarged air intakes on either side of the bumper with red accents add a hint of sportiness to the front end.
It comes with sportier alloy wheels and sporty-looking red brake callipers, adding a nice touch. Roof rails enhance its SUV appeal and make it look slightly taller. You get the JCW badging on the C-pillar to further reinforce its status.
A rear spoiler and quad exhaust outlets round off the JCW look, giving a visual balance to the aggressive front.

Overall, the JCW version retains the overall design language and styling but comes with sportier aesthetics to amp up its overall design.
In typical Mini fashion, you get a circular touchscreen infotainment system taking centre stage. With no instrument cluster, the OLED centre screen is truly your dashboard’s heart. The overall design language of the Countryman is sporty yet premium, with plenty of high-quality materials used everywhere. The steering wheel looks like it has been taken from a very premium go-kart, giving you a really sporty feel while driving.
A good thing is that Mini has offered plenty of physical controls in the lower section of the centre console, providing a tactile feel and more convenience. You get nicely integrated ambient lighting, sportier aluminum pedals, and plenty of JCW graphics on the infotainment.
The circular OLED display offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and you also get a Harman Kardon audio system. It comes with powered front seats, wireless phone charging, multi-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, a head-up display, parking assist, a digital key, and multiple airbags.

The real deal here is the SUV’s powertrain, which features a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes an impressive 304 PS and about 400 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to all four wheels using a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). It sprints from 0-100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds.
In short, under the hood, the JCW Countryman will deliver a high-output turbocharged petrol drivetrain with all-wheel drive and fast-shifting dual-clutch transmission, a combination that will deliver strong performance and bring a smile to your face. It is an SUV that you can drive smoothly when you want and also extract a lot of performance on the days when you want to have some fun.

The Countryman is likely to be priced over Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), set to be a sportier alternative to the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q3, and BMW X1.
Against its German rivals, the Countryman will bring a new flavour and clearly stand out amongst these popular SUVs.
The launch of the Mini Countryman JCW on 14 October 2025 promises to bring a new performance SUV option to the premium compact SUV segment in India. With its aggressive styling, sporty interiors, rich features, and potent powertrain, the JCW variant is likely to appeal strongly to driving enthusiasts who want a fun, premium SUV that stands out in a crowded and familiar playing field.
Now, it all comes down to pricing! If Mini can manage to get the sweet spot in terms of pricing, then this SUV could really sell in good numbers. Mini seems ready to deliver a vehicle that blends its iconic brand charm with genuine performance credentials. Keep an eye out for the launch, as we will be covering a lot more about the SUV.
