Mahindra’s Answer To Tata Nexon EV, The XUV400, Can Be Yours For Rs 15.99 Lakh

Mahindra has revealed the XUV400's price list ahead of opening the order books for the EV on January 26. The Tata Nexon EV rival has been priced between Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The EV, which will be offered in two variants - EC and EL, has recently reached showroom floors and is now available for test drives.  Deliveries for the top-spec EL trim will begin in March.

These introductory prices will be valid only for the first 5,000 orders for both the EC and EL variants. The 7.2kW charger carries a premium of Rs 50,000 in comparison to the standard 3.3kW charger.

Powertrain

Irrespective of the variant selected, the XUV400 will be powered by a 150PS electric motor. The EC variant gets the 34.5kWh battery pack, while the EL gets the bigger 39.4kWh pack. The former offers a MIDC-claimed range of 375km, while the latter claims 456km on a full charge. The 310Nm of torque from the electric motor is delivered instantly to the front wheels and takes the EV from nought to 100kmph in 8.3 seconds. 

The EC trim gets the a 3.3kW charger as standard and a 7.2kW charger is available as an option, whereas the EL trim comes with the latter as standard.

The compact electric car sports a similar design language and cabin layout as its ICE-iteration and you can take in all the information through our detailed image gallery. Deliveries for the EL trim will begin in March, while deliveries for the EC trim will kick off during the Diwali season. The Mahindra XUV400 takes on the Tata Nexon EV, while it can be regarded as an affordable option to the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV.
