Like Thar 3-door, Mahindra Will Auction The First Unit Of The Thar Roxx 5 Door

Mahindra has announced on its social media that it will auction the first unit of the Thar Roxx 5-door with the VIN number “0001.” The auction will begin from September 12 onwards and the proceeds will be donated for a good cause. More details of the same are soon to follow. It must be noted that Mahindra pulled off a similar move with the Thar 3-door, where it was auctioned for a whopping Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom). 

Like the Thar 3-door, the Thar Roxx 5 door for the auction is likely to be based on the top-end variant. It could also get bespoke cosmetic enhancements, probably with #1 badging inside and out. Mahindra could also offer it with the colour and powertrain option depending on the choice of the winning bidder. 

Speaking of which, Mahindra offers the Thar Roxx in seven colour options: Stealth Black, Burnt Sienna, Deep Forest, Battleship Grey, Nebula Blue, Tango Red and Everest White. You can have it with either a 2-litre turbo-petrol or a 2.2-litre diesel engine that comes in multiple tunes and transmission options. ‘

The Thar Roxx also comes with plentiful features. Highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof and powered driver’s seat. 

Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold and Level-2 ADAS. 

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is currently priced from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Force Gurkha 5-door, while being a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
