Kia Syros India debut on December 19
New interior teaser confirms advanced features, such as ADAS and drive/terrain modes
Also on offer will be a panoramic sunroof
May feature a large infotainment system and digital driver’s display
Earlier teaser showed a modern design similar to latest Kia EVs
Price expected to start from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom)
Kia has just released a new teaser of its upcoming Syros, offering glimpses of the interior and new features. The previous teasers had given a sneak peek of its exterior. Most notably, the brand set the stage to debut the new Syros in India on 19 December, 2024. The new Kia Syros will likely sit between the Sonet and Seltos.
The latest teaser of the Kia Syros gives a glimpse of its centre console, steering wheel, and touchscreen infotainment system. Before going to the crux it is also to be noted that the cabin of the Syros is expected to boast an all-black theme with grey highlights.

More to the point, a new two-spoke steering wheel shown in the teaser hints at the ADAS functionality as it features a sign of the lane keeping assist function. Additionally, there are switches of terrain mode selector, drive mode selector, and a button for voice assistant on the steering wheel itself.

Furthermore, there are a couple of additional switches on the centre console that indicate the Kia Syros will possibly come equipped with a 360-degree camera and parking sensors. Not only that, the teaser also shows that the Syros will get ambient lighting and a large touchscreen infotainment system (likely to be 10.25-inch). A fully digital driver’s display (likely to be a 10.25-inch unit), and ventilated seats could also be on the cards. As per the latest teaser, the Kia Syros will feature a panoramic sunroof as seen in the teaser.
If the previous teasers are to go by, the new Syros will likely boast a modern design language in line with Kia’s latest electric vehicles (EVs), such as the EV3, EV6, and EV9. At the front, the SUV, according to the teaser, will sport vertically stacked LED headlights complemented by ‘L’ pattern DRLs, while the rear will come with L-shaped taillights placed near the rear window. Additionally, the Syros will have a straight roofline and bulged out fenders.

Powering the Kia Syros could be a 1-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 120 PS and 172 Nm and perhaps a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel unit that delivers 116 PS and 250 Nm. We also would not discount the option of a base 83 PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The engines are likely to be mated to a 5-speed manual (NA petrol only), 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, 6-speed torque converter automatic. and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The Syros will not have any direct rivals upon its launch but it will compete against the SUVs in the sub-compact and compact segments. Above all, the price of the Syros is expected to start from around Rs 9 lakh and go up to Rs 16-17 lakh (ex-showroom).
