At Hero World 2024, Hero MotoCorp showcased new motorcycles like the Hero Xtreme 125R and Mavrick 440. There was another motorcycle showcased at the event called the Hero CE001. The CE in the word stands for “Commemorative Edition”' and pays tribute to Hero MotoCorp’s founder, Dr Brijmohan Lal Munjal.
The CE001 is based on the new Karizma XMR but gets a half-fairing, in a nod to the OG Karizma. The bike gets carbon fibre elements all over, which the production version is expected to get as well. And the weightsaving is apparent from the design, as the CE001 looks much sleeker than the bike it is based on. It gets a slightly raised single-piece handlebar and the front is well complemented by a smoked windshield. The motorcycle gets a slip-on Akrapovic exhaust.
The CE001 gets a 300mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc brake while suspension consists of a USD fork and gas-charged monoshock. Hero MotoCorp hasn’t revealed the performance figures but given the lightweight components and Akrapovic exhaust, they are expected to be better than that of the Karizma XMR. For reference, the 210cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine produces 25.5PS and 20.4Nm in the regular bike.
The Hero CE001 is limited to just 100 units and the special edition bike will likely be on sale in July 2024. As for the price, given the abundance of carbon fibre in its construction and high-end components like the Akrapovic exhaust, we reckon it’ll be really, really expensive. Of course, whether it will actually be sold to the general public at all, given its extremely limited production run, remains to be seen.
