Ferrari fans had been waiting for an evolution of the Roma and the brand has pulled the covers off its new grand tourer, the Amalfi. Serving as the successor to the Roma, the Amalfi sports updates to its design, interior, as well as performance. Notably, with all these upgrades, the Amalfi still retains the Roma’s underpinnings. Here’s a closer look at the Ferrari Amalfi.
The Ferrari Amalfi carries forward the elegant styling of the Roma but pushes the design language into a bolder, and more sculpted territory. Gone is the traditional large grille, instead, it features a floating body-coloured wing and a clean front profile that gives it a fresh identity.
From the side, the coupe-like silhouette and flush door handles highlight its aerodynamic focus. At the rear, sleek LED tail lights complemented by an integrated spoiler and an aggressive diffuser elevates the Amalfi's appearance. The new active rear wing not only looks cool but also boosts downforce when needed.
The interior of the Amalfi showcases an evolutionary update over Roma's cabin with a stronger focus on minimalism. The dual-cockpit layout neatly wraps around both driver and passenger, with a simplified dashboard design and a central tunnel that adds to the clean, modern look.
The tunnel houses the gear selector, key slot, and wireless charging pad that enhances functionality while maintaining a tidy aesthetic. Notably, the new steering wheel features physical buttons that will offer a more tactile control over multiple functions
The Ferrari Amalfi comes equipped with features such as a 10.25-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 15.6-inch digital driver's display, an additional 8.8-inch display for front passenger showcasing real-time performance info, and a 14-speaker Burmester sound system.
On the safety front, the Amalfi gets a suite of advanced driver aids including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, and driver monitoring. A front lifter system is also available, allowing the nose of the car to be raised to tackle speed bumps without stress.
Coming onto the most important part of the Amalfi, the heart of it, sits an updated 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, producing 640 PS (+20 PS over Roma) and 760 Nm. It is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. And the numbers speak from themselves, 0-100 kmph in just 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 320 kmph. Supporting these figures are an active aerodynamic setup and a brake-by-wire system, both designed to ensure greater control and stability.
There is no news on the India launch of the Ferrari Amalfi, however it will likely be introduced on our shores once global deliveries begin. When it does arrive, expect a price tag above the Roma’s Rs 3.76 crore (ex-showroom) starting price. The Amalfi will continue to rival the likes of the Lamborghini Huracan, Mercedes-AMG GT R, and the McLaren GT.
With its sharper design and a more evolved cabin, along with upgrades to V8 engine, the Ferrari Amalfi takes a fresh approach to what a modern GT can offer. What are your thoughts on the successor of the Roma? Let us know in the comments below.
