  • Citroen C3 to break cover in June.
  • Notable features include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, manual air-con, and smartphone connectivity.
  • Likely to be offered with 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and turbo-petrol engines.
  • Prices likely to start from Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

As Citroen India is gearing up for launching its mainstream offering, the C3, select dealerships have commenced offline bookings. The hatchback will be Citroen’s second offering for our market after the premium and pricey C5 Aircross. Citroen is expected to take the wraps off the India-spec C3 in June.

The quirky design elements make the C3 hatchback look funky. Its sleek grille and split headlight set up are inspired by the C5 Aircross. Plenty of body cladding all around the body add a dash of ruggedness to the design. And at the rear, things are more minimalistic with a simple set of square tail lamps.

Things are even more simple and straightforward on the inside, thanks to a minimalistic dashboard layout. You can add a dash of flair by opting for a colour coordinated insert along the width of the dash.

In terms of features, the C3 gets bases covered with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, manual air-conditioning, steering-mounted audio controls, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and keyless entry. Safety should be taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

The engine information is still under wraps. That said, we expect it to get 1.2-litre turbocharged and naturally aspirated petrol engines, teamed with manual and automatic gearboxes.

The Citroen C3 is expected to be priced from Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom), fending off competition from the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
