Engine options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 82 PS, and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit delivering 110 PS and 190 Nm. 

Mahindra Bolero and Bolero Neo

The Mahindra Bolero and Bolero Neo are still popular choices for buyers looking for a sturdy SUV without too many fancy features. The Bolero sticks to its old-school design and is well-suited for rural and semi-urban areas. On the other hand, the Bolero Neo feels a bit more modern with better interiors, while still retaining the same tough ladder-frame build. Both the Bolero and Bolero Neo are offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine. 

However, the one powering the Bolero produces 76 PS and 210 Nm, while the other available with the Bolero Neo delivers 100 PS and 260 Nm.

Tata Safari

Price: From Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom)

With its modern and sleek design, the Tata Safari is a solid option for those looking for an overall premium experience. It comes equipped with features like a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, a gesture-enabled powered tailgate, and a 10-speaker JBL sound system. Notably, the Safari shares its platform with the Harrier but adds the extra practicality of a 7-seater layout.

Mahindra XUV700 

Price: From Rs 14.50 lakh (ex-showroom)

The XUV700 continues to be one of Mahindra’s flagship offerings in the 7-seater SUV space. It comes with a choice of 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, both available with manual and automatic transmissions. Notable features include a panoramic sunroof, a dual 10.25-inch screen layout, and Level-2 ADAS. That said, spy images of the upcoming XUV700 facelift have surfaced, and it is expected to draw styling and interior inspiration from the XEV 9e.

Hyundai Alcazar

Price: Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom)

The Hyundai Alcazar is essentially a larger version of the Creta. It is offered in either a 4+2 or 5+2 seating layout, depending on the variant you choose. Engine options include a 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 116 PS 1.5-litre diesel. Key features include dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment and driver’s display, ventilated and powered front seats, and a sunroof.

Mahindra Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic

Price: Scorpio N from Rs 13.99 lakh, Scorpio Classic from Rs 13.77 lakh (ex-showroom)

While not aimed at two entirely different buyer types, but Mahindra does offer two versions of the Scorpio, the Classic and the Scorpio N, both with a seven-seater layout. In terms of styling, the Scorpio N looks more upmarket, while the Scorpio Classic sticks to a more rugged design. The Scorpio N gets both a 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine choices, while the Classic is available only with a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 132 PS and 300 Nm.

BONUS: Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

Price: Rs 11.41 lakh (ex-showroom)
