Mahindra has only revealed the prices of the rear-wheel drive variants of the Thar Roxx for now.
While the silhouette might look like a standard Thar with an extended wheelbase and length, the design changes are much more than just that. The front has been revised and most of the real estate is taken up by the new six-slat body coloured grille. That is flanked by new round LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs, but the indicators (now LEDs) are still mounted on the fenders. The bumper has also been tweaked and is adorned with contrasting silver highlights and round LED fog lamps.
The side profile obviously showcases the extra set of doors but eagle eyed people will also notice the rear wheel arch, which isn’t round anymore. The dual tone roof colour cuts into the rear quarter glass, adding a visual design cue from the side. The Thar Roxx sits on 19-inch dual tone alloy wheels with 256/60 section tires.
A pair of revised square-shaped LED tail lamps are the main change at the rear, which is rounded up by the tailgate-mounted spare wheel. As for colour options, it is available in the 7 following shades: Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Deep Forest (Dark green), Nebula Blue, Battleship Grey, and Burnt Sienna.
Just like the exterior, Mahindra has kept things fresh inside as well. The basic layout is the same, but the elements making it up have been revised. There’s a soft-touch dash top for example, complimented by the new digital 10.25-inch screens, one for infotainment, and one for the driver’s display. Also, Mahindra has changed the theme from an all-black cabin to dual tone black and beige scheme.

The rear gets a bench to accommodate three occupants and there’s a central headrest as well. When the middle seat is unoccupied, the people on the sides can enjoy the central armrest, and there are also rear AC vents with a type-C charger in the Thar.
The steering wheel has been borrowed from the XUV700, but the central console comprising the AC vents and AC controls is the same. The latter does get automatic functionality now.
As for the features, there are plenty of new ones, including the aforementioned screens with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, single-zone automatic climate control, Harman Kardon sound system, keyless entry with push button start, a panoramic sunroof (single-pane in lower variants) and ventilated front seats.
There’s six airbags as standard, and the full safety kit comprises ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, a tyre pressure monitoring system and even ADAS.
Mahindra has gone all out with the Thar Roxx right from the start. No rolling out of rear-wheel driver models years post launch.
