The 2024 Mahindra Thar Roxx has been launched on our shores, with prices ranging from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the RWD variants. With the new iteration, Mahindra has introduced plenty of features and has even made some changes over the existing three-door version. In this article, we will be detailing the interior of the 5-door SUV in 15 images:

To begin with the dashboard, the design and layout remain similar to the 3-door model of the Thar, but it gets a dual-tone black and beige shade. Also, the dash top is now finished with soft touch materials.

The centre console houses the 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, borrowed from Mahindra’s other offerings. It supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay, connected car tech and also displays off-road stats.

Below the infotainment system are the familiar round AC vents placed above the controls for the automatic climate control. You also get a set of buttons in the lower centre console which has controls for the ventilated front seats, hill-descent control and electronically actuated differential. Another new feature addition over the three-door version is the wireless phone charging pad found in the lower centre console.

The Thar Roxx is available with two transmission options: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The 4x4 variants, limited to the diesel model, are offered with a low range transfer case. A new addition to the 5-door Thar is the electronic parking brake with auto hold function, freeing up space in the centre console.

The power windows controls have also now been moved to the doors, which get a new design and the black and white treatment that complements the dashboard. With the power windows being moved to the doors, it frees up space in the lower centre console for cup holders.

The off-roader comes with a new steering wheel, which is borrowed from the Scorpio N and XUV700. The steering wheel gets buttons for your audio controls, cruise controls and ADAS features.

It gets a 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. Some of these speakers are mounted on the roof.

The driver gets a large 10.25-inch digital display, which has also been taken from the premium XUV700 SUV. The display will show all the vital information including ADAS features.

The driver seats can now be electrically operated, that includes height adjustment as well. Plus, the front seats come with ventilation for added comfort.

The 5-door model gets the option of not one but two sunroofs. The lower-end variants get a single-pane sunroof, while the top-spec variants are equipped with a panoramic sunroof.

The feature additions are extended to the rear as well as you now get rear AC vents and charging ports.

For comfort, a lever to decline or incline seats, headrests for all rear passengers and a centre armrest has been provided.

It gets a 644 litres boot space when filled all the way till the roof, and if you need even more space, you can fold the rear seats which gets a 60:40 split.

The 5-door Thar is also a safer vehicle than its predecessor thanks to the 6 airbags, hill-descent control, 360-degree camera and level-2 ADAS features that have been added in the new version.

Mahindra has priced the Thar Roxx from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the RWD variants. It rivals the Force Gurkha 5-door and is also a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
