5 door Mahindra Thar Roxx test drives to start from September 14 onwards.

For those who are seriously considering bringing the 5 door Mahindra Thar Roxx home, this report is for you. Test drives of the newly launched off-roader are set to commence from September 14 onwards. And in case you’re satisfied with the Thar Roxx and intend to book one, reservations are set to commence from October 3. Deliveries of the Mahindra Thar Roxx are set to begin from Dussehra, which is on October 12, 2024.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx comes in two broad trims: MX and AX. The MX further branches out to MX1, MX3 and MX5. On the other hand, the AX5 trim expands to AX3L, AX5L and AX7L.

As for engine options, the Thar Roxx 5-door comes with a choice of 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines that are available in multiple states of tune. You can have it with manual and automatic transmission options as well as rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrains (diesel only). Here’s a look at its detailed specifications:

The Mahindra Thar Roxx comes with plentiful premium features such as a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, 9-speaker Harman / Kardon sound system, powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats and keyless entry with push button start.

Safety of the occupants is taken care of by six airbags (as standard), ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors with 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system and most importantly, ADAS.
For now, Mahindra has only revealed the Thar Roxx’s rear-wheel drive variants pricing, which ranges from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Force 5-door and is larger alternative to the Maruti Jimny. For similar pricing, you can also consider the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos as well as the Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
